Biggest Loser Contest- Prize $1000

I have talked about my weight gain in the past and I've taking steps to fight against it by working out daily. However, my diet has not really changed. Well now I have more motivation and incentive than ever!! I've entered the biggest loser contest at work. It will last for 10 weeks from September 7th through November 16th! The cost was $100 to enter and the winner takes all!!! It is based on body fat percentage and we will weigh in every two weeks. I will keep you updated on my progress and post before and after pics.

As if losing weight and looking good isn’t incentive enough, I now have the chance to win $1000 and right before BLACK FRIDAY!! If you have any tips or advice on losing weight please let me know. I plan on winning this thing.

I will blog about my progress on the scheduled weigh-in dates and let you know where I am in the race, but I will tweet about it daily. If you have a twitter please follow me @sassywife to get day to day updates on the contest.

This is going to be a lot of fun at work. It started two days ago and I think everyone is already hungry! They have that whole "Diva" attitude going on as if they need a Snickers!!! Yesterday, someone anonymously sent me a nice treat via interoffice. I received the envelope and guess what was in it...A Bag of Hershey Kisses!! I knew this meant one thing, Sabotage. With that said, I really could use your help and support. I am trying to decide if I want to do a fad diet or do the healthy approach and just watch what I eat. I already work out but I will increase that to twice a day as time permits.

What do you think? Atkins, Low Carb or Weight Watchers or do you have any other tips that have worked for you? I want to win this so bad.
  1. Bragging Rights
  2. Looking and Feeling Great
  3. Maybe losing weight will assist with conception (nothing worse than a big fat negative)
  4. $1000!!!
Here is the weigh-in schedule

  • September 21
  • October 5
  • October 19
  • November 2
  • November 16
My weight loss icon right now..Doesn't Jennifer Hudson look Fabulous!!

Wish me luck!!

  1. Good luck girl, you can do it!!! Here is what has worked for me in the past. WATER.WATER.WATER. and try not to eat 3hrs before you go to bed or after 7pm. I would try to get in 1 liter of water by noon and then 2 more through out the rest of the day to make it at least of gallon

  2. Good Luck! That 1K is a great incentive. Try the Eat Clean Diet. One of my girlfriends is a professional dancer (not stripper) and she recommended it. It produces results!

  5. Earlier this year I lost almost 20 pounds from just cutting out a majority of the sugar in my diet. Now this can be hard, because I didn't think I ate much to begin with, but sugar hides in everything! So make sure you eat only whole wheat breads, no candy, cakes, ice cream!!, and no regular sodas. Just check food labels, and try to stay under 15-20 grams of sugar for the day. Trust me, this works! I started losing the first couple of days(like 5 lbs. in 5 days). I still ate whatever else I usually ate, too. Good luck!!

  6. I wish you all the best. You can do it. Earlier this year I lost 12 pounds by cleaning up my eating habits and exercising. I stuck with my program until a few weeks ago when I slacked off of my exercise routine. You have inspired me to get back on track. Thanks for sharing.

  14. Sending you tons of luck! My tips, do at least 45 minutes of cardio at least three times a week. Try switching machines every 15 minutes and be sure that during your second and third 15 minute cycle your heart rate is at the right level for weight loss! Second tips, simple switches to egg whites, low fat meat, and grains helps a lot! Don't starve, just make good choices!

  15. I wish you the best of luck during this challenge. The tips that I have for you is to keep track of what you eat. You would be amazed at how much we really eat during the day. I'm not sure what kind of phone you have but I have an app on my android that lets you enter you weight and your goal weight. It breaks it down for you and lets you know how many calories, protein, fat, etc that you should consume each day to reach your goal. It was very helpful to me. There is a food diary where you can look up and enter food. all the fast food location, restaurant, and items from grocery store can be entered in. Sorry for the long comment....

  20. Hey you, love your facebook name! I did Weight Watchers and lost over 25 lbs. For me it was all about portion control and cutting out sugar (I drink a lot of tea with milk & sugar.
That was back when you weighted and measured everything. It was great to see the volume/size of portions. I drank tons of water daily and NO salt. Now I only drink skim milk and use half as much sugar. You seem very motivated, you'll do fine!

  21. I've never been on a diet, so I can't really comment on ways to lose weight over a sustained period. The one area where I do have experience is from martial arts weigh-ins: in a competitive fight, where there are weight classes, it can be preferable to be the heaviest person in a lower class rather than the lightest person in a heavier class. I've lost around 3kg of pure water weight over the course of a couple of days before a fight, simply by timing when I drink and making sure I'd flushed out my system before the weigh-in. Google should find you some tips if you search for martial arts, weight, and water (assuming this isn't cheating within the rules of your contest). Good luck! :)
